March 9, 2010. We left Yuma this morning, had a nice leisurely drive East on I-8 to Gila Bend. (Heela Bend for you Northerners:-), then headed North on Old Highway 80. Beautiful drive, passed a desert Shrimp Farm among other things. We'd planned to spend the night in a pull-out somewhere in the hills, but because of rain yesterday up there, it was too soft to try most of the places I had in mind. We did stop at an old store and ask the owner about parking in his lot, but he said "too many Banditos at night", and said we shouldn't stay there. So, here we are at home in the Flying J West of Phoenix. Just like staying in a park! With WiFi and our satellite dish up, we're really roughing it. Didn't take any other pictures today, but will make up for it tomorrow!
